Recently, Award-winning New Jersey author, Lisa Funari-Willever, was invited to testify on behalf of Nicky Fifth and T-Bone before the Assembly Committee for the Arts and Tourism. Supporting the work of these two characters to introduce New Jersey to New Jersey as well as spark in-state tourism for children and families, Funari-Willever spoke to a very receptive panel. The committee voted unanimously to move the bill to name them the state’s Official Junior Ambassadors, to the General Assembly. Details will be posted as they develop.

Lisa visits schools in all 50 states and abroad, including Asia and Europe.

In response to the economic hardships many schools are facing as a result of the economy, the fee will remain the same throughout the 2012-2013 school year. Schools may also use a portion of the book sale toward the visit fee or may pass a discount along to the staff and students. Small schools in close proximity of each other may split the day.
